A guy was leaving to go to earth (to be born?) and woman was crying as he left on this carososel type vehicle. Musical? It was in color and in late 40s. What is this movie?
I saw this movie as a child in the 40s. I remember a 'heaven' scene with a woman with long red hair crying
Sounds suspiciously like the movie "Carousel" which is a musical from the 1956. Towards the end of the movie, the character Billy Bigelow - who was killed in a knife fight before his child was born - is allowed to go back to earth to help his teenage daughter.
Could that be it?
