Dying hair from Blackish red to Pink?

I have naturally black hair but recently dyed it red (it's not a reddish black, but pure red under light; wierd) and want to die it a brightesh pink (permanent or semi-permanent) and was wondering if anybody knew if the pink would take on my hair as it's really dark and coloured? and also if anybody has any tips/makes i'd really appreciate it.

You might be better off dying your hair back to black, or something closer to your natural color, leaving it alone for two weeks or so, and then using a permanent hair color like Loreal Paris Colour Rays. I have dark brown hair, and although I had never colored it before, their fuscia showed up really well. I don't know what would happen if you just tried to dye it over the reddish color. It would probably be incredibly odd. I don't know any semi-permanent pink dyes... Hope that helped!

eww.

well..mmm.. frankly speaking the hair color that suits most humans is the color they are born with. Men with olive or brown tan skins have natural black hair %26amp; it suits them ; so does the blonde haired northern europeans..

ofcourse there are exceptions:- like black hair suited elvis more than his natural blonde hair ;)

but it is fine as long as you do some natural hair color like blonde, brown, black etc etc..even a tinge of red wont hurt.. but please dont try unnatural shades like pink or green..it looks horrible..

trust me ;)

Well, I say go for it! But definitely semi-permanent, just in case. I don't think it's good to go over the red, it may just come out darker pink/red. I agree that dying it to (lighter) brown and then waiting a few weeks and then dying it pink. HOWEVER! Highlights would look much better in pink over black - just a suggestion...Since you're already trying out pink ;)
