I asked my mom for only a couple of things this xmas & one was to be able to dye my red hair! SH

That's because she knows if she let's you color your hair. You will want to continue doing so once your roots grow. Changing ones hair color and keeping like that. Requires a lot of up keep.

Sometimes the reason why moms do these things is because they know what they're talking about. Ask her how it looked when she got the Mohawk as a teenager.

Keep asking. Cry, threaten to poke beans up your nose and hold your bereathe til you turn blue. Red hair is the sexist most fun color of all. There are many lovely shades available. Perhaps offering to have your mother help you pick the shade of red might help.

Remember you will need to dye it again in a month or so since you will get "roots" every six weeks or so of your natural color as your hair grows. Its not cheap to buy the color so keep in mind it may cost ten bucks or so each time, so think is it realistic for your budget. You can always dye it back your natural color if you positively hate it. The permentant colors are the best, the temporary ones look like crap wearing off.

If you are serious perhaps disguss with your mom her reasons why not. You can always do it i suppose the minute you are grown and leave home but if you are reasonable and get her involved in the process she might change her mind.

Loreal and Cornsilk are two brands of red i use. Cornsilk is quite inexpensive and gentle on hair in its favor. a link about loreal in place for source below. And a link for my fav color of red i use now.
